Counselling for anxiety, worry, and panic

Anxiety can look like racing thoughts at 3 a.m., a tight chest before work, avoiding things you used to enjoy, or a constant sense that something is about to go wrong. It's exhausting, and it often sits alongside stress, burnout, relationship strain, or past trauma. Counselling can help you understand what's driving your anxiety and give you practical tools to feel steadier in your mind and your body.

Location: 620 View St., Suite 520 (downtown Victoria) • Online: Secure video across British Columbia.

Who this helps

  • Constant worry, overthinking, or what-if spirals
  • Panic attacks or a body that won't settle
  • Social, performance, or work-related anxiety
  • Health anxiety, or anxiety after a medical event
  • Anxiety linked to past trauma, burnout, or relationship stress

How we work

We'll start by understanding your anxiety: when it shows up, what it's trying to protect you from, and what keeps it going. From there I draw on CBT to loosen anxious thought loops, DBT skills for big feelings, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to help you move toward what matters even when anxiety shows up, and somatic tools to calm your nervous system. When anxiety is rooted in past experiences, EMDR can help.

Sessions: 50 minutes, in person in downtown Victoria or online anywhere in BC.

FAQs

  • How many sessions will I need?
It depends on what you're dealing with and what you want to change. Some people feel a meaningful shift after a handful of skills-focused sessions; others prefer longer-term work on what sits underneath their anxiety. We'll set goals together and check in regularly on how it's going.
  • Do you prescribe medication?
No. As a Registered Clinical Counsellor I don't prescribe medication. Counselling works well alongside medication, and with your consent I'm happy to coordinate with your doctor.
  • Can we meet online?
Yes. Many people find it easier to start from home. Online sessions use secure video and are available anywhere in British Columbia.
  • Is anxiety counselling covered by insurance?
Many extended health plans cover sessions with a Registered Clinical Counsellor. You'll receive a receipt after each session to submit for reimbursement. See rates & insurance.
